The Tresses

Image
Like a long river flowing without a clue, Her tresses were gold covered in dew. Like a leave dwindling in the wind, The curls touched her cheek as they flew. Like a magnificent banyan standing through, They wouldn’t let the harsh sunshine on you. Like a night shining without the moon, They carried silence all echoing through. Like a magic spell bound on you, They got through the soul of you. Like a mountain wind unfurled and undue, They carry you along and through. Like the hot sand slipping amid the fingers, They are hard to chase and hard to get through. Like rainbow smiling from edge to edge, Those tresses are bliss and adorned with sweet dew.

The Bombay Blood

Image
Today is the day when I was supposed to open that one envelope; that I have been long since waiting to tear apart. Till a good two month ago, I was as reckless that I could have been. Life for me was embedded in impulses. I had little to no consideration for what other thought of my action or me. But, then my life changed. As they always say, there are always three versions of a story; yours, theirs and the Truth. I was living my version of the story. But by the time I was done reading this letter; it was for sure, that mine was not the truth. I for some abominable reason ended up in a hospital ward exactly two months ago. I was in pain, extreme and unbearable pain. That pain is now long gone, but the sores it created in my soul are now filled with guilt. It all started with a blood transfusion. And, no I didn’t contract any disease due to it. It revived me and brought me back to my life. It was New Year’s Eve and we a group of dozen boys were hanging just outside ou...

The Bestseller

The sun outside was glaring hot and the winds were roasting warm. It was a lackluster mid-may day. She could feel the heat emanating from the concrete floor beneath. She could feel the blistering heat traveling up her feet, each time her stilettos contacted the ground. She hurried inside the nearest open store beside those giant fountain pools. As she entered the air curtains started blaring, blasting her with relatively cooler gusts of air. She could now anticipate the dry fog like fragrance of the conditioned air that awaited her. She stepped inside and the much-awaited cool respite was now encompassing her. Even before the bead of sweat rolling down her sideburns could make its way toward her neck, the cool air blast spread the sweat into a thin film all across her cheeks and up to her ears. Her cheeks and tip of the nose carried ostensible sunburn, and her throbbing headache from the heat wasn’t helping her either. She looked around. It was a bookstore. Rows af...

Little Krishna and The Moon Fairy

Image
Little Krishna and The Moon Fairy Little Krishna got up with fright, He just saw Moon fairy up close & bright. She held him by his hand in his slumber, And flew him up above out of his chamber. The fairy took him across to the Moon, And with a silver spoon fed him some prunes. She was lovely and she smiled, She grew sweeter as each hour piled. Krishna landed on the ground divine, Fairy showed her home that she called mine. The vast were stretches and rivers full of milk, Moon was beautiful and was covered with majestic hills. ‘What brings you here’ is what she said. ‘I don’t know, I followed your wand red.’ ‘I won’t have brought you here, had you not been distraught’ ‘I appeared when help was all you sought.’ ‘The School is hard and the studies are tough’ ‘I am not sure why my life is rough’ ‘My friends tease me for I am slow’ ‘My teachers reprimand me as my errors glow’ ‘I wish I could live here on Moon’ ‘Drink from thes...
